Fragrance house Coty is speaking out about the recent U.K. ban on the TV commercial for Beyonce's Heat perfume. The U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority banned the ad from its daytime TV slots, claiming it is too sexually explicit.

Anna Dello Russo launches fragrance with video

Japanese Vogue editor Anna Dello Russo has launched a new fragrance and she is promoting it with a YouTube video. The video stars Dello Russo decked out in a corset dress dancing around a very large and very Victorian-style bedroom (and it's her apartment). Dello Russo uses Kanye West's "Runaway" as the feature music. On her blog, Dello Russo says, "I'm so HAPPY to show you the VIDEO of my SCENT." So are we.

Beauty giant Coty buys philosophy skincare and cosmetics

Coty, which also owns Calvin Klein, Chloe and Davidoff, will add philosophy to its Coty Prestige division for a deal worth $1B. philosophy was founded in 1986 and sells a range of products at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, QVC and more.

"philosophy is one of the beauty industry's most prestigious brands and a fantastic addition to the Coty family," said Bernd Beetz, Coty's CEO. "This acquisition will allow Coty to strengthen its presence in the skincare category, which is one of our key strategic objectives."
