Hugo Boss Celebrates 20 with New Men's Scent

Hugo is turning 20 and what better way to celebrate the soul and brand identity by creating a new fragrance?  Hugo Red, the newest fragrance is set to launch in January, the 20th anniversary of the Hugo fragrance brand at Proctor & Gamble Prestige.

Hugo Red is said to aim to 'bypass the "top note, heart note, base note"' structure and rather, starts with a punch of grapefruit and rhubarb, transitioning to contrasting cedarwood and hot amber notes".
“What is innovative about this is that it is a two-phase fragrance, and you have this almost extreme freshness followed by the beautiful warmth,” said Will Andrews of P&G’s Fragrance Creation Team.

Artist to Sell Sweat as Perfume to Tourists

So this may be the most disgusting perfume news ever, but Daniel Peltz, a conceptual artist from Sweden, is planning to collect sweat of Swedish glass-blowers as they work and sell it as perfume to tourists!
The glass-blower´s sweat and work is something that tourists appreciate when they come here and look. So for me there isn´t such a huge difference in selling the glass-blower´s sweat and the finished glass," the American explained.

And what do the glass-blowers think about this 'project' of Peltz?

They are happy to provide their sweat for the project.  Interesting.

“The perfume reflects Marni’s fashion, certainly,” said Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni’s creative director to WWD. “Because it’s a perfume that’s quite individual, that doesn’t evoke anything in particular. It’s for a woman who dresses for herself, who doesn’t follow trends but is sophisticated and also maybe a little eccentric.”

The line will consist of body lotion, shower gel, body cream and a deo-fragrance. The scent is a floral and fruity one, blending spicy and woody notes with a dark, intense rose oil to 'inject voluptuousness'.  “It’s very modern and bold,” said Veronique Gabai-Pinsky, global brand president of Aramis and Designer Fragrances, who has partnered with Marni in licensing and creating the innovative fragrance.

“I love the idea of being able to dress women and give them part of my world,” Basso told WWD. “I truly wanted this to be a signature fragrance, but this is just the beginning. I would love to do more scents in the future, and create complementary products like sachets. I’ve waited so long to do this — I didn’t want to make something just for the sake of doing one, so I was extremely involved in putting it together.”

The scent can be worn day or night; top notes include Italian bergamot, lemon, and crisp green; a heart of orange blossom, jasmine sambac and French tuberose, and a drydown of cedarwood, cashmere woods and white musk.

In keeping the taste for luxe finishes, the fragrance bottle's outside edge will be banded with faux fur.  “I wanted it to look luxurious and modern, with some weight to it,” he added. It is topped with a faceted crystal with an engraved silver-tone plaque.

“Fragrance is important to me because it completes my fashion,” said Cavalli — who is a true believer to the point of having salespeople spritz his eponymous first fragrance with Coty liberally throughout his stores each day. “The fragrance is part of my fashion. Every woman should have my dress, and every woman needs a Cavalli perfume.”

What do you think of the pink glass and gold toned metal bottle with pink python skin wrapped around the collar of the bottle?
