In an effort to protect Justin Bieber from a potential tween mob scene at New York's flagship Macy's store on Thursday, a security guard hopped a baricade and threw the pop star to the ground, according to witnesses at the event. Before realizing the man was in fact a security guard for Bieber, the police issued him a summons for disorderly conduct. The police deny that Bieber was ever touched, according to a story in USA Today. Either way, Bieber was unharmed during the incident.
Bieber was in New York to officially launch his women's fragrance, Someday. Around 400 to 500 fans, mostly teenage girls, gathered at Macy's as early as Tuesday to catch a glimpse of the teen sensation.
Bieber's perfume is specifically for girls between 14 and 18 who make up a large portion of his fanbase.
"The Biebs" told WWD via e-mail that he chose a women's fragrance as his first launch because, "let's be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy! I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world.”
