Gucci Envy Me was released in 2004 and was created by Karine DuBreui. When I first saw Gucci Envy Me, I fell in love with the signature Gucci trademark on the front of the box. It's also repeated in pink over the tall, rectangular glass bottle and it sets off the pale pink eau de toilette perfectly. The white cap with Gucci Envy Me in silver and pink was the perfect touch. My first thought when I saw it was romance, spring and everything feminine.
I wasn't at all disappointed when I opened the bottle and used a spritz on my wrist. Envy Me has a light fruity, floral scent to it. Notes include lychee, peony, pink pepper, musk and sandalwood. The combination of these scents is ultra feminine with a touch of sensuality from the sandalwood and pink musk. Overall, Envy Me definitely has a girly, come hither kind of feel to it.
For me, the most noticeable scents are from a combination of the peony and the pink pepper. I notice the floral a bit more than the fruity but the pink pepper leaves a nice fresh scent instead of something overwhelmingly floral. I don't like heavy floral scents so I was thrilled with how light and fresh Envy Me feels. The floral is definitely there but it's not at all heavy or overpowering.
Because the scent is so fresh, it's ideal for daytime use in any number of situations. It's light enough to wear at the office and feminine enough to use on a date or out with the girls. The sensual feel of Envy Me makes it suitable for all but the very young or the very mature.
I love the staying power of Gucci Envy Me. One application in the morning and this scent stayed with me throughout the day. It easily lasted me eight hours of wear time which makes this ideal for daytime use. One spritz on pulse points in the morning and you're set for the day without having to reapply. This one is definitely moving to the front of my perfume tray.
